1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text strings that the sites you visit send to your terminal equipment (usually your browser), where they are stored and then sent back to the same sites the next time you visit.

The cookies used on this Site can be distinguished on the basis of the following criteria:

a) according to who manages them:

  1. own or first-party cookies: these are cookies installed directly by the Company through the Site;
  2. third-party cookies: these are cookies installed through the Site by third parties other than the Company;

b) based on the length of time they remain active:

  1. session cookies: these cookies store the necessary information during the browsing session and are deleted immediately after the session expires, i.e. when the browser is closed;
  2. persistent cookies: these are stored on your hard disk and the Site reads them each time you visit. A persistent cookie has a fixed expiry date. The cookie will stop working after that date.

c) according to purpose:

Cookies are used for various purposes. We use them, for example, to count the number of visitors we receive to a page and to protect your data.

The following cookies are used on the Site:

  • Technical cookies
  • Tracking or "analytics" cookies
  • Profiling cookies

To find out more about this category of cookies, please continue reading this policy. Find out how they work and what they are used for, and choose freely whether to consent to their use or not.

1. What are technical cookies and how do they work?

Technical cookies are those we use for the sole purpose of enabling you to visit and use the Site.

They can be further divided into:

  • navigation cookies: these ensure normal navigation and use of the Site. These are normally session cookies and are automatically deleted when you close your browser;
  • functionality cookies: these allow navigation according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language or country of origin) in order to improve the service provided on the Site. These are persistent cookies, which remain on your computer even after you close your browser until the expiry date set for each cookie (typically two months to two years) or until you delete them.

As provided for by the privacy regulations in force, your prior consent is not required for the installation of such cookies (Art. 122 of the Privacy Code). You are of course free to block the installation of technical cookies in the manner indicated in paragraph 4 below.

However, please note that by blocking the installation of technical cookies, or subsequently deleting them, your ability to access the Site, to use all or part of it, to enable or disable certain functions or to receive certain services may be wholly or partly compromised.

The following cookies are currently used on the Site:

2. What are tracking or "analytics" cookies and how do they work?

Analytics cookies are used on the Site to collect statistical information, in aggregate or non-aggregate form, on the number of users accessing the Site and how they visit the Site.

The analytics cookies on this Site are not installed directly by the Company but by third parties who act as independent data controllers.

As required by current privacy legislation, your prior consent is required for the installation of third-party analytics cookies (Art. 6 (1)(a) of the Regulation and Art. 122 of the Privacy Code), unless tools are adopted to reduce the identifying power of the cookies and the third parties do not cross-reference the information collected by the cookies with other information they already have. For this reason, when you access the Site, a special banner is displayed prominently, informing you that (i) third-party analytics cookies are used on the Site and that (ii) by closing the banner, scrolling down the home page or clicking on any element of the home page other than the banner, you consent to the use of cookies. Should you consent to the installation of cookies in this way, we will track your consent through a technical cookie. In this way, we will avoid displaying the cookie banner on your subsequent visits to the Site. Please note that if you delete this technical cookie from your browser in the manner set out in paragraph 4, let. (A) below, the trace of your consent will be lost and, therefore, during your next visit to the Site the cookie banner will be displayed again.

You are of course free to block the installation of analytics cookies at any time, without affecting your ability to visit the Site and enjoy its content in any way.

Below is a list of the analytics cookies currently used on the Site, with an indication of the link to the policy pages created by their developers to inform you on how to manage analytics cookies and easily opt-out of their use:

3. What are profiling cookies and how do they work?

Profiling cookies are used to create a profile of you as a user, based on the preferences and tastes you have shown while browsing the Internet, and to display advertisements consistent with your profile. As required by current privacy legislation, your prior consent is required for the installation of such cookies. Should you consent to the installation of cookies in this way, we will track your consent through a technical cookie. This will ensure that we do not display the cookie banner on your subsequent visits to the Site. Please note that if you delete this technical cookie from your browser in the manner set out in paragraph 4 (A) below, the record of your consent will be lost and you will therefore see the cookie banner again on your next visit to the Site. Of course, you are free to block the installation of profiling cookies at any time, without affecting your ability to visit the Site and enjoy its contents in any way. If you decide to deactivate behavioural advertising, this does not mean that you will no longer receive advertising. There are several options for managing, disabling and deleting cookies:

(A) Changing your browser settings

Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the browser you are using to find out how to manage, disable or delete all cookies:

(B) Using the methods made available by the third parties

To disable third party cookies, please consult the privacy policies of the third parties who install analytics cookies, to find out about the other tools available to you to manage, disable and delete cookies, and more generally to object to their use. Remember that by disabling third party cookies, (i) you object to their use not only on the Site but on all Internet sites where they are used and (ii) the ability to browse the Site and use its functionalities will not be affected in any way. 5. Is there anything else I need to know?

Personal data may be stored on servers operated by third parties (e.g. suppliers of IT systems) or may be managed by parties specialized in online advertising, who act as data controllers. Please note that some of the third party cookie issuers may be established in countries outside the European Economic Area, which may not offer an adequate level of protection under the Regulation.
